A Job is not Action Research

I just finished reading yet another study by some computer scientists. I need to refer back to my earlier entry about "Unfair to Qualitative Research", and make a note:

That you've been working with a project doesn't mean you've done action research.

That you've talked with a number of people doesn't mean you've done interviews.

That you've gradually begun to understand something doesn't mean it's been hermeneutics.

heh, good ones :)

one more, similar to the last one: that you've at the end found something doesn't mean you've applied grounded theory.
